Horse and Dog Health Care With a Difference

Here is a very unusual non-medicinal pain relief and natural therapy method for animals that I came across recently, developed by world renowned Dr Bradley Nelson, author of “The Emotion Code”.

He claims that most animals who are suffering from some kind of physical problem, are suffering due to one or more underlying trapped emotions. He states that if you can manage to somehow tune into it and learn what that underlying trapped emotion is and release it, their physical problem can disappear as a result.

He worked with a horse who had a trapped emotion of sadness about seeing a baby bird fall from a tree and die. It had fallen right in front of where the horse was stabled. The trapped emotion of sadness in the horse had led to a condition of lameness. When the sadness was released the lameness went away.

Watch this video below to also hear about the dog who also had pet anxiety, shown up as a trapped emotion of sadness. These sotries are amazing!

Bran mashes have always been marketed as being beneficial for adult horses to help them hold their weight on – the results of worn and older teeth. Now, it seems that feeding bran mash might be dangerous for your horse’s hooves. The long and short of the information is, don’t feed bran in case your equine has any hoof troubles.

<!--

Oats or different grain brans comprise phytate, and that is high in phosphorus and will obstruct absorption of calcium within the small gut, resulting in a systemic calcium deficiency. Calcium is necessary in the strong bonding of keratinized cells to produce a robust hoof.

But, what about the fact you have been trying to control stool texture? Try using sugar beet pulp as a substitute. If you are utilizing bran to prevent sand colic, use psyllium. Really, to be frank, you are not likely going to be giving your horse enough bran mash that your horses hooves will probably be in trouble. Bran mashes aren’t normally the only meals given, they are used in mixture with other forage and pellets.

So when you do have hoof issues, what about utilizing Biotin – a popular hoof progress supplement? Well, that is fascinating, it appears analysis reveals that in case your horse has a normally functioning GI tract, a biotin complement isn’t considered necessary. And feeding greater than the physiological amount of biotin does not enhance hoof development and strength. Ok wonderful, so what is the point? Point is instead of biotin or mash, feed loose salt, vitamin C, copper and zinc.

Make certain your horse has access to free salt and never just salt blocks. Then again, horses fed a premixed feed usually get ample quantities of salt, so you will not need loose salt. Copper and vitamin C are catalysts for forming healthy, connective hoof tissue. Ensure that copper and vitamins are provided in satisfactory amounts. DL-methionine, glycine, praline and glutamic acid are main building blocks for wholesome connective tissues.

Zinc is required for a wholesome hoof. Without it, the hoof will suffer from parakaratosis, a defect within the maturation of keratin, rendering the hoof soft and structurally impeded. Copper and Zinc must be in balance by the way. Bottom line? Don’t feed dietary supplements just for the sake of it. Work out if you really want them within the first place by talking to your Veterinarian. And for those who do, only begin with one after the other so you’ll be able to see if it is truly beneficial.

Animals are susceptible to numerous disorders. Some of these may possibly depart long term destruction while other people are fatal. A single example, which could go either way, is equine colic. This transpires when the horse experiences pain within the abdomen and points can get worse if medical interest will not be administered instantly.

When the health practitioner has not arrived yet, the person can do specific factors, which will help inside medication. This consists of getting the temperature and monitoring the heart rate, recalling what kind of meals was provided the previous several days as nicely since the drinking water consumption and checking out the colour with the gums.

The veterinarian may well be on call elsewhere so right up until support arrives, no foodstuff have to be given to the horse. It will eventually also be a fantastic concept to walk the animal so it’ll not think in regards to the ache. When the creature will not wish to get up but it nonetheless continues to roll for the ground, every person must guide out and transfer the horse elsewhere so it doesn’t inflict any injury to itself or other people.

The physician will generally give the horse some antibiotics. This tends to guide ease the ache and it is usually a wait and see game immediately after that to see if you will find any advancements. Some horses recover swiftly while you will find individuals that don’t so this definitely is dependent for the animal.

You will discover other professionals who’ve a organic cure formulation to cure equine colic. Instead of applying medicines, herbs are utilised rather. Some examples of these are cape aloe leaf, ginger root, fennel, wild yam root and cayenne powder. That is mixed together with drinking water or some alcoholic formulation after which provided on the horse.

Prevention naturally is however the very best way against any illness. This really is since the charge of medicine plus the skilled fees of your physician are really high-priced. Below are a couple of issues that horse owners must do to reduce equine colic.

1. 1st, the person will need to watch the meals being served on the horse. Processed grains from a trustworthy supplier are ideal when raising such a magnificent animal. Some individuals think that hay is ok however it may have bugs or other foreign objects, which could result in difficulties. This need to be checked prior to this really is granted.

Two. Apart from checking for foreign objects inside the hay, the person ought to also have a very parasite handle system. This can make certain the stable is clean at all situations even if this can be washed thoroughly various occasions a week.

Three. Horses have to have lots of activity to remain fit. A brief ride or purely walking with it to get a few minutes every day can assist strengthen its immune program. It’ll also have to have enough rest. There must be time granted to the horse to just roam around or just lie even now in the stable.

4. All multivitamins or drugs that is going to be granted towards horse must very first be examined because of the vet. This really is due to the fact some may well make the animal sick specifically if it carries a sensitive digestive method.

Five. Anyone ought to also make sure the horse practices proper hygiene. It indicates offering it a bath and brushing its teeth because deposits may perhaps soon come to be infections that could get worse if nothing is performed to treat it.

A diagnosis of colic is a situation that concerns any horse lover. So what is colic in horses? What indicators should you look for?

Equine colic refers to pain originating in the abdomen. Normally horses will not handle pain of the abdomen well. So in the event of any disturbance of gut function they tend to show signs of distress.

Signs of irritation might be stretching, a stance as if to urinate, and hoofing the floor. If in more pain the horse will get up and down, and roll to try to get more comfortable.

The horse will likely start sweating. In more severe cases it will stand up and lie down and continuously roll.

What Should You Do?
If you believe your horse is suffering from colic, you should call an equine vet immediately. The vet will be in a position to provide emergency pain relief and decide whether further treatment is appropriate.

Is there anything you can do while waiting for the vet to arrive? Leading your horse for a walk can help. It can sometimes encourage his intestines to work normally and surpress any pain. It may also prevent him lying down and rolling. If however he is lying on the floor quietly then let him stay there.

It was previously thought that a horse could cause a twisted gut by rolling around. That has been proven to be probably not true. Though it is best to prevent him rolling around if you can. That way you will stop your horse injuring himself by banging himself on nearby walls. But be careful that you don’t cause injury to yourself. Horses often lose all their normal manners if in pain.

There are several differing reasons for horses to get colic. Frequently the signs look the same regardless of what caused it.

How does the vet investigate the issue? They will listen to the abdomen using a stethoscope to show them whether there is any more activity in the intestines than there should be.

Monitoring the heart rate provides a good indication of the severity of the discomfort and the seriousness of the colic. Usually a horse with a normal heart beat doen’t have a sever problem. Whereas higher heart rates are not such a promising sign.

A really helpful part of the examination is the rectal examination. By feeling the gut, your vet could be able to identify the root of the issue. Without doubt this is a incredibly skilled procedure, that could be dangerous for both the vet and the horse. But for an experienced equine vet the feedback it gives is incredibly useful in concluding the cause of the problem. It may reveal a blockage, or a swollen gut loop as a result of a loop or other intestinal issue.

In all but the most straightforward scenarios the vet may pass a tube through the horses’ nose into the stomach. Though it sounds uncomfortable but can make your horse more comfortable by releasing the built up pressure in the stomach. This process can also give the vet useful information as to whether the stomach is emptying correctly.

On occasion a horse might be so much pain that it is impossible for the vet to examine him properly without first giving a quantity of sedative.

Only by collecting all of the signs revealed by a careful examination is the vet able to make an initial diagnosis. Even then it might not be possible to diagnose exactly what the problem is.

Sometimes, after the first inspection, your horse needs surgery. But more usually your vet will choose to treat the horse with a short-acting painkiller and monitor his progress after a few hours. The majority of examples display a quick improvement. Although some will either not respond to the treatment, or they might respond at first, then start displaying signs of pain again later on.

Rather than having to call the vet out multiple times, it is usually better to move these cases to a specialist practice where they can be closely monitored and surgery can be performed if necessary.

Conclusion
Thankfully most cases respond quickly to medical treatment. But if surgery is needed – it is important to operate early. The chance of a successful outcome is much better if the operation is carried out before too much damage has taken place.

The Friesian horse as a breed comes from the Netherlands, specifically a province called Friesland, and are thought to derive from the primitive Forest horses. Known for there grace and agility even though they are the size of small shire horse. It has been said that they were prolific war horses used throughout Europe from the Middle Ages onwards, as their strength and agility could carry an armour-clad knight whilst remaining fast and strong. More recently, Friesian horses are are trained as harness horses, and even in the Dressage circle.

Characteristics of Friesians
Characteristically, true Friesian horses are black, though there are other distinguishing features. They are also know for their long, dense, almost waved mane with a similarly long and thick tail, and also characteristic long hair on their lower legs (affectionately know as feathers).

Height wise, geldings and mares have to be over 15.2hh to be considered pedigree, whilst Stallions come in at 17hh at the withers.

Many people have heard of the term ‘Baroque’ when it comes to the Friesian body type, this is in reference to the more classical, stocky Friesian build. Typically Spanish looking heads with short ears, they have an extended, curved neckline and carry great definition. With regards to the Friesian body they are a well-built looking breed, with muscular bodies and somewhat stunted legs with a low tail.

Friesians are respected not only for their agility, stamina and high-stepping trot, but also for being a gentle, affectionate breed.

Friesian Uses Nowadays
More often, Friesians are being crossbred to produce Friesian Sporthorses, which are lighter in weight, however there is still a great demand for purebred Friesian horses.

They remain a popular choice for any harness or carriage work, utilising their high-stepping action, agility, speed and strength, though you’re just as likely to see a Friesian Horse in the Dresage arena due to their attitude, willingness to learn and characteristic look. It is this temperament that lends Friesians to becoming a sound choice for pleasure (bomb-proof) horses.

So if you’re in the market for a reliable, distinctive looking horse which can be used for anything from pleasure hacking, to harness or carriage activities to dressage competitions, Friesians remain a popular decision.

I think that’s the end of the line for me when it comes to winning competitions. We had this small ranch and have lived with horses as far as I can remember. It was my parents who were in charge with the horses that’s why I never had to worry about horse joint pain and horse pain relief. After proving to my parents that I can maintain and train a horse, they surprised me with a beautiful show. I raised him to be a sweetie.

For our regular exercise, we went to the trails near our ranch; that’s after I saddle trained him, of course. One day while we were walking on the trail, my horse, Bailey, slipped and fell hard on his front knees. He landed on a jagged rock and sustained lacerations on his knee.We followed the vet’s instructions and he looked as though he was fully healed except for the bad knee which seems to bother him a lot. Pet Pain
We became closer after the accident. Bailey has become the friend I really loved. I kept thinking about horse joint pain and pain relief everytime. I started looking on the web to see if there was anything I could do to alleviate the horse joint pain he was feeling, after all Bailey was supposed to be a show horse. Several weeks later, becoming despondent and depressed, I clicked on Animal Fitness Center web page. There seemed to be a lot I could do for Bailey. The good news really fired me up, my hopes are high for finding relief in Bailey’s horse joint pain. Animal Pain Relief

Dr Ava Frick and his team set up up for the entire day so they could assess Bailey.Everybody was really nice and helpful. Dr. Frick told me that Bailey had developed Equine arthritis and this was causing severe horse joint pain. She told me that she’ll take care of Bailey’s horse joint pain. She told me she often helps when an equine can t walk and has equine paralysis. Most of them recuperate 100%. Animal pain relief is her specialization and she uses animal chiropractic and modern technology treatments such as a water treadmill, physical therapy, nutrition and herbal remedies.

Bailey had a massage treatment at the Animal Fitness Center and the physical therapy was something my parents and I could do at home.We have to bring in Bailey for the treatments we cannot do at home and in no time, we noticed that he was becoming better requiring fewer treatments. Between the treatments at the Animal Fitness Center and our home therapies Bailey was walking limp free within six months. We’re joining a competition soon and we’re hoping to bring home the bacon soon. Pet Pain Relief
